Joel Momberger is based in Suwon, Korea, where he represents the University of Texas at Austin as the Director of the Gyeonggi-UT Technology Innovation Program, a collaborative initiative between the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas at Austin and the Gyeonggi Provincial government. the objective of the Program is to identify innovations with promise for global commercialization and to accelerate that process. Momberger also has been a member of the Foreign Direct Investment Committee for Gyeonggi Province.

An American by birth and attorney by training, Mr. Momberger has held a number of positions in the legal profession and in the IT Industry. Immediately prior to accepting this role, Mr. Momberger was Managing Director of Informatica S.E.A. Pte. Ltd., then the Singapore-based Asia-Pacific division headquarters of Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a Silicon valley-based enterprise software company. Momberger also has worked as a Foreign Legal Adviser to Kim & Chang in Seoul, Korea, has acted as the Senior Legal Counsel, Asia for Oracle Corporation and was engaged as General Counsel for the Eastman Kodak Austin Development Center. Mr. Momberger also served as Vice-President, Business Development and General Counsel of Applied Science Fiction, Inc. (“ASF”), a pre-IPO imaging technology company acquired by Kodak. Prior to joining ASF, Mr. Momberger was Of Counsel with the BakerBotts law firm in its Austin, Texas office. Mr. Momberger has provided legal and business advice and services to many companies worldwide, including AB Volvo, Oracle, IBM, the Upjohn Company, Huntsman Chemical and Eastman Kodak. Mr. Momberger founded the Utah-Pacific Rim business council in Utah

Momberger holds a B.A. in Linguistics and Juris Doctor degree, Order of the Coif from the University of Utah where he was a member of the law review. He speaks, reads and writes Korean and has studied French, Japanese and Bahasa. He is a frequent speaker on topics related to technology commercialization, globalization and convergence.
