The Asia Institute hosted a TAIK Talk concerning “Cyberspace and East Asian Integration” on March 14, 2015 at W Stage WCO that featured and open discussion involving youth and experts concerning the potential of the internet. Presentations were made by Dr.Ogan Gurel (A Director, Samsung Institute of Advanced Technology) and Mr. Matthew Weigand (Managing Editor, Business Korea). The discussant was Rosie Kim of Seoul International School and the moderator was Gabriel Pettyjohn, a researcher at The Asia Institute.
Much attention was given to the paradoxes of fragmentation and integration in cyberspace and the inconsistent manner in which this new space is being utilized.

The Asia Institute is pleased to announce that we have been approved by the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Education today, March 10, 2015, as a legal N.G.O. (사단법인). The Asia Institute is already incorporated in the United States as a non-profit organization in the state of Michigan.
